Last day of work

*sniff.... Today's the last day of work for me. After that it'll be babysitting my two sisters for a bout a month, maybe longer.
At least that really spaces up my free time. Gonna relax while i have time otherwise when college starts i am screwed. Still not sure where to study or what to study. A-levels? Foundation? That depends on my results coming in March. If I'm lucky i can study A-levels if not I'm going to study foundation.

I'm gonna miss work dearly. The people there are fun and serious at the same time very knowledgeable at their respective fields. Hopefully The maid comes soon otherwise i'll be broke before i know it.

It's one now so i'll get some sleep. Goodnight people.

Chili head's day out

What a Thursday. Just had a day out on my off day with Leonard in the morning and with work colleagues in the afternoon.

First my mom dropped me off in Leo's place and we went to take a bus to gurney but ended stopping by his school for brunch. I must admit the food is tasty and very cheap there but for school food that is way too sweet.

After that we left to see my school. It was charity week so it was kinda nice to see school hasn't changed much, yet. Sadly they still haven't picked a headmaster/headmistress to replace Bro. Paul after he retired.

One of the students helping out to raise money for the school to donate to specific institutions that need the money.

After that me and Leonard went to gurney thanks to my friend's mom who was so kind to drop us off there. We popped by our work place to rest for a bit, Leonard was very tired. He slept while I went looking around in gurney and goofed off in chili's.

Photo taken courtesy of Joe Mun. The shirt? Courtesy of my girlfriend. A great fit even when i wasn't there to try it.

And this is the close-up version.

After that i went back inside just in time to see Red Bull BC One aired on star sports. Too bad it was just a highlights program. Then we waited til it was about 5 when the morning shift was to end. Waiting for Joe Mun and Jenny. Lynn was studying in college so she was relatively early to join us. Too bad Lena couldn't join us, she had lots of work to do.

Leo had a vain session in front of me with my camera while waiting for them. And here are the results.

Looks not like him but it is him. He turned Declan on us.

Now he looks like a retard.

We then goofed off in the cinema watching Legion and went to Starbucks and chit-chatted. Leonard hogged the spotlight while he could before my mom came to pick us up. Then we went home to rest and gear for the next day of work. It will be one of my last 3 days of work i have left before i go for a month long (maybe longer) break to babysit the house and my sisters. That gives me plenty of time to prioritize things and spend as much time as i can with Mei Yan before i get too busy with college and work.
now's about 12 so i gotta go get ready to go for work. bye folks.

25-1-2010

Good morning World!! *stretches his arms* just woke up from a really good night's worth of sleep.
Slept at around one in the morning and woke up at 9. Work's great but it does have it's drawbacks. For one, you cannot be sleepy when you work, especially in the kitchen and i paid the price for it. I burnt my finger on the flat top while making an order of quesadillas chicken. Ouch. now i got a white patch on my finger that is numb. And i sprained my ankle too.

Dad came and picked me up from work around ten and i went home  to bathe and sleep, wash my apron too.

And tonight's shift is night shift, again. So today I'll finish around midnight and follow the van until i reach home.

And now I'm bored, guess I'll go and play Dragonica.
It's a fun game to play when you're with friends but really boring if you're just playing alone.

Cute game, but it's so friggin' lame at times.
*Yawns. I'm Still so sleepy. Ah well. Gotta go, bye.

Night shift + Excited boy = Dumb guy

And to think day shift is hard.
Last night i did my first ever night shift in chili's. The orders kept coming in and i had no time to take a break.
Best part is that we had to clean up after we finished, and there is a lot to clean. The six of us to clean the whole restaurant. We were supposed to close and start cleaning up around 10 30, but ended starting it at 11 30 due to the fact that there were still customers coming at 11!

We finished cleaning up around two in the morning. After that we sat in a van, which is hired by the restaurant, to take us home. So the first one to go is Lena. She lives in Batu Feringghi and it was a one hour drive to drop Leonard off at his place and another half hour to get to my place. So with a bit of math i can calculate that i reached home at three thirty in the morning! Arrgh, and i have to wash my apron and try and tend to love matters between my friend and his love interest and still wake up tomorrow and do other chores if necessary in the house. All in all after to tending to the first two items i slept around five in the morning. That's five hours of sleep. And there is no maid to help clean the room. Which also bring the news that I'm taking a break from work  to take care of the house and my two sisters. My grandmother has been here for the whole while taking care of the place and now she has to go back all the way down to Port Dickson to prepare for Chinese New Year. Yay. Now college sounds very appealing. Haha.

Ah well. Today's another day working in the restaurant named Chili's in the night shift, until the place closes. Guess I'll get off the com and get some extra sack time.

Chung Ling High School dragon boat incident

I would like to extend my condolences to those who were lost and died in the dragon boat incident and hope they find the bodies of the remaining dragon boat members.
To the parents of the victims i pray that you will be able to find peace in you after your loss.

Jason's farewell

Tomorrow... sigh.
I'm gonna see Jason one last time before he goes off to Australia to do his foundation studies.
Ah well, that's part of life. You see friends go and come back and sometimes never see them again.
It's just a short post in acknowledgement to one of my best buddies that i won't get a chance to see him for a long while.

Eating my own words

I had to say it. Now I'm eating my own words.
Whoa. No comment on today's day shift. Worked a lot, drank a lot (healthy drinks mind you), and worked more after that.
The orders kept coming like the ants returning home once their daily duties are done. I had so many orders with the ingredients eventually running out again, and again, again. It was fun to do the orders but very stressful because i had to prepare the ingredients and dressings (partly) and do the orders at the same time. Thankfully Donna was there to help out when she came.
Compared to yesterday? Well, yesterday was like taking a stroll in the park compared to what came my way. Today was like swimming against a tsunami of orders, and they keep coming wave after wave. I wonder how does the senior staff handle all the pressure.
Don't ask me how the food in there is like though i make them yet. Just not yet. Because i don't know how it tastes. To be honest, the first time i went to chili's was when i went for the interview, which i thank God for giving the job to me. I felt bad for the guys who applied but never got the post, most of them are my friends from school, sorry guys.
Another day's come and gone and it was used up getting myself some money and smelling like butter on the way (literally).
Just so you know, I'm not starting college early because of plain logic and some greediness, hehe. Plain logic tells me that if i start early with my forecast but get crapped up results for my SPM to continue college would end up me wasting my parent's money, which is about a 5-digit sum of money and getting kicked out of the college. And the greediness is for me to save up for hangouts and clothes, if i need them. Some of my clothes are so old they could date back ten years ago, TEN!!!
Ah well, I'll shut off for the night and see what tomorrow holds, may God bless you all, plus me, haha.

The first ever hectic day of work

*Slumps to the ground... So tired after Saturday's day shift at work. The orders keep piling and I ended up mixing them. Sigh. Now i understand why there are no new trainees in the kitchen. The front lines are swarmed with the new guys (mostly my friends from school).
Luckily I slept early before working otherwise I'm dead by now. Leonard the owl monkey always decided to sleep late and wake up early for work and he suffered for it... hahaha. The look on his face when we had our lunch break was hilarious. He looked like a perv with the blur look and ruffled hair.

Okok.. back to the subject on hand. Were those hungry customers and tall orders. I practically ran to the chiller to refill on the ingredients at least FOUR times. I had seven orders in one go and with help i still had problems with getting the orders right. Gotta thank the managers for spotting the mistakes in the first place, phew.

Another day has come and gone. No pictures available because i had no time to do the orders, I'll edit them and upload them when i get the chance.
Til next time, see ya.

Bored + home alone = INSANITY

Hello people!! Just popping up another post to satisfy my unmatched will power to be bored
to my boring death. After work i came back home and hit the sack for a bit and then went down
for dinner at eight p.m.. After that i couldn't watch the tv as my grandma wanted to watch her favorite shows.
I walked upstairs and then blogged my first post in this page for a bit (i was practically done in 15 minutes).

I must be getting paranoid because I (of all people) can't wait to get back to work the next day
and the night has to zoom by so slowly.... Arrgh. I let time zoom by like it was a tortoise going on a race against the rabbit on a ten mile race.. me being the tortoise of course.

And finally comes eleven o'clock. I got an eight hour shift the next day so I'll leave it here like that.
See ya!!

Work + friends = FUN

Oh yeah! Second day of work was great. The work hours are great and it's fun.
Technically.

( Workplace in the average day.)

You won't see me working in the diner unless you venture into the kitchen.
Yes, I'm a cook. And one of my best mates working with me too is a cook.
He's the fry food chef while I'm the salad boy.
We both got our advantages and disadvantages. What is a burden is the early hours we start (earlier by an hour than the food servers) but have to be there early because of the fact that we set up the kitchen and prepare the other stuff. Not a bad trade off for what we learn from our respective trainers.
Me and Leonard are the only two new trainees for the kitchen line so far.
We both did our own things assigned by the trainers so we didn't talk much. Me especially as my trainer for the first two days is a lady named Sherry if I'm not mistaken. She's cant hear or talk so my base language is sign language in the kitchen.

We'll see what tomorrow has in store for work and maybe, just maybe i might be doing an order by the customer instead of helping out with the preparation.
Till then. Live long and prosper.
